Smale Park in downtown Cincinnati is the perfect location for senior pictures if you want a little bit of nature and a little bit of city-scape.
I'm so glad Lauren chose to go to Smale Park after seeing another senior session from there. This is my third time going to the riverfront for senior pictures in Cincinnati, and I love it more each time! I feel like I'm always finding hidden gems and catching the flowers in bloom at a different time depending on the week, and they were absolutely gorgeous this time around!
We also got lucky with the weather--after seeing rain in the forecast the few days prior to Lauren's senior pictures, I was nervous we were going to have to reschedule. Luckily, those summer storms only last a few minutes sometimes, and we got lucky with a gorgeous, cloud-free sunset all evening!
Lauren's senior pictures at Smale Park started off immediately with laughter (the best way to calm your nerves, right?!) and it was awesome to have a few of her family members and boyfriend around to help be her "hype people." That definitely got a few extra giggles out of her and made these pictures that much more fun to take.
Lauren graduated with Ella Beal, one of my favorite families, so we chatted a bit about how they knew each other and what Lauren's plans were for college. It's so interesting hearing about the wear schedules that colleges are about to start having because of Covid, especially knowing I almost had to deal with it (yay, early graduation!). Lauren is planning to go to Transylvania to study premed...I'm always impressed by what these incredible seniors are doing.
The Roebling Bridge is a must for senior pictures in Cincinnati.
When in Rome, right? But in this case, it's when in Cincinnati and within 10 minutes of the most iconic bridge in Cincinnati, right? The Roebling Bridge wasn't even in our "plan" of where we were going to go through the evening, but since we had to walk right by it anyways, I figured we could jump on it for a few pictures in between the few cars driving by. It's such a perfect shot and I think it's a gorgeous way to show off Cincinnati. If you're skipping those Roebling Bridge senior pictures when you're in Cincinnati, you're missing out!
After pictures on the Roebling Bridge, we headed down to the park area of Smale Park. I loooove the way the yellow flowers look with Lauren's curly red hair--it's such a summer picture!
We also got a few pictures together with the family + a few of her and her boyfriend, who are so cute together! I always ask the moms at the sessions if they want one pictures of them together, which is usually followed by a very quick and loud "no! I don't look good today!" (which also usually isn't true, and I promise you will cherish the picture anyways), but it was fun to do a few shots of these three ladies together with the perfect lighting and backdrop.
We finished up Lauren's downtown Cincinnati senior pictures with her wearing her new college shirt.
Although a t-shirt might not be the most glamorous outfit for senior pictures, it's a fun way to show off your new school, the fact that you graduated and got into college in the first place, and really let people know what is up! I love how she paired her college shirt with a cute denim skirt for a cute but casual outfit, and the red and green together is giving me life!
Of course, we couldn't leave our our favorite, Roebling Bridge, so we took a few more pictures with it in the background--the perfect tribute to Cincinnati, home sweet home.
