Kinzie St. Bridge engagement pictures were a first for me, but I couldn't be happier with how they came out!
Carrie + Noah are another one of the many couples whose plans had changed over Covid, and ended up getting engaged in their apartment one evening instead of abroad as Noah had planned for. Even though it wasn't the original plan, it was still a special day for these two (I mean duh, they just got engaged!!!). Here's more of their story, told by Carrie:
"Noah and I met at the Kingsbury Plaza pool deck during the summer of 2016. I originally lived in Atlanta, GA, and had flown in to celebrate my sister's birthday on a weekend in July. Noah and my sister, Angela, happen to have worked for the same company and share many of the same friends. Noah had just moved into the building that weekend and was at the pool when Angela and I (with some of our collective friends) went to soak up some sunshine. Angela introduced me to Noah were we started talking and I felt a connection right away. Noah joined the birthday activities later that night and met us out at the Windy City Smokeout. He did not leave my side that whole evening and I was smitten! I had to leave that weekend to go back to Atlanta, but flew back a few weekends later for Noah and I to have our first official date. We loved each other's company so much that we dated long-distance for eight months (taking turns flying to each other's cities) before I made the move back to the Midwest in July of 2017. We grew so much closer as a couple and moved in together in April of 2018. Fast-forward a few years, many amazing trips and adventures, and we land to April 2020.
Originally, we had planned a trip to Ireland for my Spring break. Covid-19 threw us a curve-ball, and we've had to indefinitely postpone our travel plans. Noah had an idea to "celebrate" what would have been our trip to Ireland by one morning making corned-beef hash and having Guinness for brunch on the day we were supposed to return from our trip, which would have been April 12, Easter Sunday. He invited Angela over to have brunch with us and dye Easter eggs. I was about to call our grandmother to wish her a happy Easter when Noah (unknown to me) told my sister to, "take a picture." Noah got my attention by telling me, "I have an Easter present for you," and proceeded to get down on one knee. (I really have no idea what he said after this as I was so excited and crying such happy tears! I think it had something to do with asking me to marry him - ha!) He pulled out the most beautiful ring I've ever seen and I immediately said, "YES!!" Though we were supposed to have been in Dublin, this was the most perfect engagement I could have imagined. The two people I love most in this city were with me, Noah and my sister Angela. And, we couldn't have asked a better person to take "a picture" for us, we now have over 200 photos of this most special moment!"

The sun was setting beautifully for these Kinzie St. Bridge engagement pictures, and added that extra touch of romance and "wow factor" I always hope for. We started off with a few more playful prompts (which are always my favorite), and these pictures of them are so freaking cute!! I love laughter and all the real emotions, so needless to say I fell in love with these pictures and smiled at the screen the whole way through editing until my cheeks hurt.
I always recommend a dress or outfit with some movement, and her cute beaded tassel earrings were the perfect touch to complement her white skater dress from Lulu's!
Kinzie St. Bridge was one these two had to cross all the time to see each other once they were both in Chicago, so although it's a popular location for engagement pictures in Chicago already, it has a pretty significant meaning for these two and the story of their relationship.
Carrie brought two Anthropologie champagne glasses, which I immediately recognized.
Instead of the crazy champagne pop, we opted for a more simple pour, but not without some perfect pink and gold champagne flutes from Anthro. These are on my wishlist, and when I finally get all the glasses for all the cocktails and drinks I like to make, these will for sure be on my list. (For now, champagne gets a wine glass in my apartment).
I love all these champagne pictures so much, from the glasses to the bubbly to the perfect sunlight and the laughter and movement in them--they're so dreamy!
After a quick outfit change in the car, we walked around the area in River North a bit more for a change of background. I loved getting a bit more nature in the scene before heading to the street for more playful engagement pictures of these two together, and one final kiss at Kinzie St. Bridge at sunset!
