I was never really an elopement photographer...
But with lots of changes and pivots in the last year of a COVID world, I pivoted a bit to serve smaller weddings and elopement clients with the same photography experience they usually can get with me at their weddings.
Lauren and JP found me through another (incredible) client of mine, and became my third elopement couple this year. We spent the morning doing some more casual engagement pictures in Grant Park at sunrise, headed up to the Wrigley Building, said howdy to the police officers and snagged a quick picture with their car, and then headed to our final destination, North Avenue Beach.
A good friend of these two showed up on his bike, in full on bike shorts and helmet, and married these two right on the pier at North Ave Beach with our (read: my clients') favorite & most popular view.

If you've followed me for a little while now, you may recognize this location from Jenna and Adam's Grant park engagement photos a little while ago!

After our sunrise engagement photos in Grant Park, we headed to a spot with almost no one there that always has amazing lighting: The Wrigley Building.
Y'all know I have done lottsssss of engagement pictures at the Wrigley Building and Wedding Photos at The Wrigley Building, so of course I had to take Lauren + JP here once they requested we just hit as many locations and iconic Chicago locations for their engagement photos as possible.
I'm always a big fan of showing off iconic locations in whatever city it is that I'm in at the time, and I think a lot of city-dwellers feel the same, so it was basically a race against the sun for Lauren + JP + me to see how many spots we could fit in before the sun got too high.

After we finished up engagement photos at The Wrigley Building, we headed over to my personal favorite and most requested spot in the city, North Avenue Beach, for elopement pictures and to actually get these two married!
I always love taking North Avenue Beach wedding photos and engagement photos in Chicago, but this morning was especially amazing since there was only one other person there really. Maybe two or three, but....only one that I remember. He probably remembers us too since he requested a selfie with this lovely couple lol. Just Chicago things!

The couple's friend Grant biked all the way to meet us and get these married at North Avenue Beach so we could get some photos of their actual ceremony, which was, unsurprisingly, full of laughs and jokes and some sweet moments sprinkled in.
