Chicago winters are rough. Like, 6 months of gray skies and slushy streets, and sometimes even using-fire-on-the train-tracks-to-keep-them-from-freezing rough.

This blizzard we had over the weekend was no exception, but the photos were SO worth it! If you've been here for a while, you may remember Jenna and Adam's summer engagement pictures in Millennium Park from last year. With a wedding originally planned for March 2021, the timing all made sense--but with the wedding now postponed to February 2022, we had some time to kill and new Save The Dates to send out, so I figured offering some new, updated, seasonally-appropriate pictures made sense!

We planned this day a few weeks in advance before knowing about the snow, and it just so happened that the Chicago skies blessed us this day with the perfect amount (debatable) of snow. I met up with Jenna and Adam at the Wrigley Building, a classic spot for Chicago engagement pictures or Chicago wedding pictures, and then ventured along the Riverwalk through the snow, a few people out and about in the weather, and finished up at Wolf Point.

Chicago engagement pictures are always special with so many iconic locations for them that are immediately recognizable to locals and non-locals alike.

I always love to text my mom a few photos after sessions I really love, just to keep her up-to-date on my life and job somewhat since she doesn't use social media, and she always, without fail, says something about "the beautiful people." That's you guys. All of you. If you're on my website or have ever been in front of the camera, you're considered "the beautiful people" by my mom lol. She always comments on the laughter and the smiles and how she can feel the emotions--which is always my goal as your photographer.

There are so many iconic Chicago engagement picture locations, and we hit lots of them just in this one hour together. From the Wrigley Building to the Riverwalk to standing under the bridges to Wolf Point, we packed our day with lots of different spots to mix up their options.

I can't wait to be with these two again in a year from now (so far but I know it'll fly by!) for their wedding day, and FINALLY get to take all those dreamy wedding portraits we've been waiting for!!!
