Forgive my poor blogging abilities. I came on here today to write this post f i n a l l y and I already had a started draft from December 26th...it was just the title though. SO. Let's actually talk about these two a bit before I show you this whole Brooklyn Bridge sunrise engagement session.
First, Sophia + Vin are troopers. They woke up early--like 5 or 6 am early, traveled to the Brooklyn Bridge in November (cold and windy) and were down to do whatever I asked, including standing in the middle of the bridge.
Wondering how to get your own engagement pictures in NYC without strangers in the background? Wake up early and get to your location before sunrise to beat the crowds!
Once I was back in Chicago, I was so pumped to edit these and THEN I got some makeup and jewelry from Sophia in the mail (she's a makeup artist/jewelry designer by the way, you should check her out!) and I've been loving playing around with all the goodies since then. How do I get so lucky to meet such awesome people??
Soooo, basically Sophia + Vin were awesome, and I need to go do some more sunrise engagement pictures in NYC soon.
Duh.

Oh yeah. And some girls found us and wanted to hop in the picture. Have I seen or heard from them since? Nope. Do any of us know any of them? Nope. Do I want this to happen again? Most definitely.

In a city as big as New York, there's never a lack of locations for engagement pictures. I wanted to make sure I got pictures of somewhere iconic when I was there, and to me, that meant the Brooklyn Bridge. It's also one of my favorites in the world since I'm from Cincinnati originally, where the prototype to the Brooklyn Bridge was built by John A. Roebling.
Brooklyn Bridge is an iconic engagement picture location in NYC, along with Central Park, the Flatiron building, and of course, St. Patricks Cathedral.
To make sure we got a bit of nature in there, because that's classically my style, we headed around the corner to NYC city hall and got plennttttyyyyy of fall colors and candid smiles.

After a quick outfit change into something more casual, we grabbed a few more engagement pictures at NYC City Hall before we went out and about for the day.

We ended the morning on a high note, watching Sophia + Vin have a scarf fight. Why did I come up with this idea? Not sure. But I love it, and the gif of it is super cute (on my Instagram!)

Engagement pictures don't have to be crowded, even in New York City, and they can be fun!
I'm SO ready to meet another couple stupid early in the morning to catch the sunrise, an empty Brooklyn Bridge, and share some laughs together all before my morning coffee.
