It's no secret that I travel for my engagement sessions and weddings pretty often, and a St. Pete engagement session is something I've been wanting to check off my list!
I'm lucky enough to have some friends and family scattered across the US, making it a little easier on me than others to get on a quick flight and have an easy, comfortable place to hang out and work. It's a working vacation. I almost always take working vacations--because how can I travel the US and not photograph it along the way?
I knew that after a long, cold, colllddddddd winter in Chicago, I was going to feel extra giddy about the warm sunshine and pockets of colorful flowers sprinkled throughout St. Pete, and Riley and Matt were the perfect pair to explore Vinoy Park with over the weekend.
Riley and Matt are such a breath of fresh air! Riley and I have been Instagram-friends for a while now, and we finally got to meet up in St. Pete to make these photos happen. It's always fun meeting people in real life after you've exchanged plenty of heart eye emojis and kind comments via a tiny little screen. We chatted all things Chicago, moving to Florida, weekend plans, and brunch, and of course shared lots of laughs throughout the morning.
Located right around the St. Pete Museum of Fine Arts, Vinoy Park was the perfect location for some quick Saturday morning engagement pictures.
Disclaimer: these two aren't engaged just yet, but for the sake of making this blog post useful to Google, I'm going to throw in the word "engaged" a lot lol.
Regardless, this couples session was the perfect thing to get me feeling excited and inspired for the season ahead. I've been looking forward to getting a more full schedule in the next few months after dealing with COVID, a Chicago winter, and the general "bleh" feeling a lot of us have right now, but THIS!!!! THESE COLORS!!!!! This COUPLE!!!!
I've considered trying to work out a way to escape the snow during winter, but considering I don't have a house of my own, let alone two houses in different states, that idea may be a little more difficult to make happen for now. But I think I can certainly swing a few trips to Florida (and other warm states) during the winter when all this color is what's waiting to greet me!! 😍
I've spent some time in Jacksonville (where these two are living now, actually) and Tampa/St. Pete area--surprise, it's because I have a family member who has lived in both cities--and both have been such a nice getaway from the 5 month long cold, dead season we get in Chicago. I always try to do some type of engagement pictures when traveling, and Jacksonville and St. Pete engagement pictures were no exception!
Just looking at these Vinoy Park engagement pictures gives me that warm, sunny feeling--which is kind of the goal, right?
The laughter, the goofiness, the goosebumps you get from the chilly morning air that get washed away by the sun on your skin........too dramatic? Or just the right amount? Anyways....can you tell I wanna be back there already???
While I keep dreaming about going back for more St. Pete engagement photos at Vinoy Park, you can finish looking at the rest of these cute AF engagement pictures. Or send this post to someone who might need a photographer down there so I have an excuse to head back asap. Ya know, either way works ;)
